Lundin Peak / 6,057 ft

By July 2, 2008April 22nd, 2018Cascade Climbs

Climbers: Dennis, Jose, Jim
Routes: East Ridge – Class 3-4
Climb Description: We approached via the Old PCT Commonwealth Basin Trail (Parking lot was still partly snowed in!). After gaining the approach ridge to Red Mountain we soon left the climbers trail at 3800-4000 feet. After sidehilling we dropped a few hundred feet to the basin below Lundin Southface. The remains of winters avalanch debris were clear, new trees strewn everywhere. We climbed the open basin 1500 feet until we hit the notch between Lundin’s true summit and the false peak. Looking at the east ridge and final rock traverse to the summit. Leading we climbed the exposed 3-4 class ridge. After enjoying the summit we rapped the ridge and boot skied the basin.

Weather: Awesome and great snow conditions
Notes: “Jose became a mountain man”
