MEET FREDY

Freddy grew up in the Antisana Volcano region of Ecuador. For 12 years he has been a certified mountain guide with the Ecuadorian Mountain Guides Association (ASEGUIM), and he approaches his work with friendly good humor and careful attention to the well-being of all of his guests. Fredy climbed Cotopaxi for his first time when he was 12 years old. Then he decided to dedicate his life to mountaineering. He has climbed throughout the Andes, the United States and elsewhere, including various first ascents and an ascent of the challenging South Face of Aconcagua. Fredy speaks English, Spanish and the native Inca language Quichua. He served as director of the ASEGUIM’s mountain guide school from 2007 to 2009.
