Mount Rainier Muir Snowfield

Climbers: Dennis, Bonnie
Route: Muir Snowfield 8500′
Climb Description: Despite a good weather forecast we left Paradise in cloudy misty rain. Following the winter route up Panorama Point we climbed to 7200 feet crossing Pebble Creek. We took a short break and headed up the first roll. The clouds would occasionally break giving us brief views of the mountain. After continuing to break trail in powder snow up the Muir snowfield we reached 8500′ calling it our high point, we enjoyed great views with spectacularly clear skies. As we descended I briefly lost the trail below Pebble Creek, quickly realizing my mistake we re-climbed the route and headed down without further incident.
Weather/Conditions: Cold and misty but with super clear views at 8000′
