Trek Overview
Our trek to Everest Base Camp is truly one of earth’s most remarkable adventures. For most travelers the very thought of watching the sunset over Mount Everest from Kala Patar or standing at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall at 17,600 feet is a dream come true. Everest Base Camp is situated within the Khumbu Region of Nepal and is home to the famous Sherpa people known for their friendly hospitality and fascinating culture traditions. During the trek you’ll encounter a land filled with sheer Himalayan peaks, ancient Monasteries, tales of legendary mountaineers and perhaps even the mythical Yeti. Our program allows more time for acclimatization greatly increasing your chance of completing the journey. This trek makes a great Himalayan experience for new or experienced trekkers and is surely one you’ll never forget. Strong hiking skills are requisite.

Sherpa treks are led by friendly English speaking local guides who offer a deeper cultural understanding of Khumbu Region. All our guides are highly knowledgeable climbing professionals with vast expedition experience and are trained in wilderness first aid.
Everest Base Camp Trek •
17 / 18 days
Our Everest Base Camp trek begins in the historic city of Kathmandu, known for its fascinating Nepalese culture and ancient temples. We tour some of the cities famous world heritage sites including Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and the always favorite Swayambhunath (Monkey) Temple. You’ll overnight near Thamel, where you have a chance to shop and explore Kathmandu's famous tourist district.
The flight to Lukla provides amazing views of the terraced Nepalese landscape and Himalayan giants including the crown jewel Mount Everest. Once in Lukla we’re welcomed with a cup of tea and meet our gracious Sherpa staff. The trek takes us along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River passing small Sherpa villages laden with prayer flags and Mani stones. We carry light packs as yaks or porters carry all of our heavy trekking gear. You soon arrive in legendary Namche Bazaar the main trading center of the Sherpa people and gateway to the Khumbu Valley. The next days offer amazing Himalayan views as we begin the descent across the Imja River and trek up to Tengboche. We tour the historic Tengboche monastery and watch the sunset over the Khumbu. Over the next few days we enter the upper Khumbu Valley where our route takes us up the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier passing stone memorials of fallen climbers.

After spending the evening in Lobuche we enter the dry glacier, meandering through glacial ice and debris until reaching the final outpost of Gorak Shep. We trek up Kala Patar. This vantage point allows for amazing views of Mount Everest. Here you’ll experience the highest mountain on earth, known by the Sherpa as Sagamartha “Head of the Sky“ or the Tibetans as Chomolungma “Mother Goddess of the Universe“. The next day our trek continues to Everest Base Camp, located at the foot of the Khumbu icefall. We hike across the glacier passing yak trains carrying supplies for Everest climbing expeditions. During the spring climbing season when climbers are attempting Mount Everest our trek stays one-night at Everest Base Camp. Once at Base Camp you’ll experience the excitement of expedition life and meet climbers preparing for their adventure to the top of the world.
After saying farewell to our Sherpa staff, the trek returns to Kathmandu where you’ll have a chance to relax, shop and futher discover Nepal’s ancient city. Then depart for flights home.
Island Peak Climb •

Climbing a twenty-thousand-foot trekking peak in Nepal provides for an excellent introduction into the world of Himalayan mountaineering.
